Member Benefits

Membership in Foundation 50 Academic Society provides many opportunities for building capacity in scholarship, and writing for publication in indexed peer-reviewed journals in particular.  It also provides access to the networks developed by Foundation 50 Academic Society.

Regular Member (Membership fee = K250,000/annum)

  1. Subscription to the official publication of Foundation 50 Academic Society, the “The Academic Bulletin”.  The Academic Bulletin is a biannual forum for reviews, writers’ toolkits, and journal writing tips.  In addition, The Academic Bulletin features include new ideas, case reports, consultations in scholarship, commentary, abstracts, and opinion to help keep you focused on attaining increased productivity in publishing in indexed peer-reviewed journals.
  2. Reduced registration fees for the Foundation 50 Academic Society events, such as annual scientific conference and workshops.  These innovative workshops assemble national and international leaders in scholarship, providing a forum for exchange of the latest information in the field of publication writing.
  3. Training in grant/proposal writing, publication writing, research design/ methodology, statistical applications, academic presentations, the journal review process, and other relevant courses.
  4. Access to materials and toolkits that foster publication writings.
  5. Access to academic events such annual scientific conference, article review workshops, writing retreats, public lectures/ invited speakers, and journal clubs.
  6. Networking opportunities via the Foundation 50 listserv, meetings, and website links facilitating constant connection to members and other scholarly networks around the world.
  7. Free online access to Foundation 50 web publications.
  8. Right to vote, hold office, serve on committees and receive all members’ privileges.
  9. Membership card authorising discounted or free admission to Foundation 50 – negotiated events and/or services.
  10. 10 % discount on renewal of membership.
  11. Membership souvenirs such as ties, car stickers, calendars, etc.
  12. Access to research funds and grants as may be available through the Society.
  13. Listing of members on the Foundation 50 web site and in the annual report.

Associate Member (Membership fee = K150,000/annum)

  1. May serve on sub-committees and receive limited member benefits but not eligible to vote or hold elected office

Student Member (Membership fee = K50,000/annum)

  1. May serve on sub-committees and receive limited member benefits but not eligible to vote or hold elected office.

Founding Member (Membership fee = K1,000,000 only for founding year)

  1. All the above benefits listed in regular member’s benefits.
  2. A personalised Foundation 50 Academic Society founder member certificate.
  3. Name listed on founder member list on website.
  4. Free attendance to all Foundation 50 Academic Society events for 2 years.
  5. Eligibility for regular membership for life.
  6. Founder member membership card.

Honoured Member

  1. All the above benefits listed in regular member’s benefits
  2. A personalised Foundation 50 Academic Society honoured member certificate.
  3. Name listed on honoured member list on website.
  4. Free attendance to all Foundation 50 Academic Society events.
  5. Honoured member membership card.
